CLASS SIX
Project Based Assignment
Why should you do assignments?

To get the max out of this course and learning process, I highly recommend going through all of these assignments.

They will test your topology solving skills, and how would you deal with various problems on the mesh. Finally, more complex examples will test your ability to recreate an asset only by analyzing the shape.

Difficulty Level: Beginner
Suggested Class Completion: Class 1-2

The purpose of this assignment is to practice correct edge flows and observe the impacts of different flows on the surface behavior.

What is the assignment?

Create supportive edges where necessary
Create proper edge flow for sharp corners
Fix areas where topology is not correct
Experiment with edge flow variations
TIP: Some areas you can delete and recreate

Practice files
Difficulty Level: Intermediate to Advance
Suggested Class Completion: Class 1-5

The purpose of this assignment is to adapt to the surface and recreate situations where necessary.

What is the assignment?

Recreate objects with proper and clean topology.
TIP: Keep even spread where possible.

Practice files
Difficulty Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Suggested Class Completion: Class 1-5

The purpose of this assignment is to observe surface highlights and create the necessary parts.

What is the assignment?

Advance the shapes from basic blockouts.
TIP: Keep even spread where possible.

Practice files
Create the base blockout with clean topology
Advance the shape from the blockout
Create the base blockout with clean topology
Advance the shape from the blockout
Create the base blockout with clean topology
Advance the shape from the blockout
Create the base blockout with clean topology
Advance the shape from the blockout
FINAL TASK
Project Based Assignment
Create a grenade matching the references below.
The final result should have a clean topology.
Render the final image as close as possible to the provided images, including clay, wireframe and material render.
Create UVs (Optional but a big plus).

—
TIP: When rendering, focus only on establishing the scene and the lights. Leave the materials (roughness, normal map etc) for very last step.
—

(A) Establish the general Scene Lights first
(B) Once you have the general scene setup, materials will come next

—

Project will be considered completed when following renders are in order:
Grenade Clay Render (A)
Grenade with Materials Render (B)
Grenade Wireframe Render
Grenade UV´s (Optional)
